417 days to go

June 16th – 1 year 1 month and 22 days from today

8.49am 2-1 yay!! I’m happy and SO anxious that my stomach hurts. It’s going to be a very long day.
10.10am and the only thing I did was to send an e-mail to the agency in Germany. Now fifteen minutes later and I still didn’t do anything. I can’t focus. And the man is here trying to arrange all the papers we have to show at school and to the landlord in case we take the house.

My son (6) didn’t really learn how to cycle yesterday. And he cried for hours because we couldn’t go back to the park and practice some more. In the meantime, my daughter (4) showed us that she could even ride her big brother’s bike. All the boys of the house were astonished. I didn’t doubt for a second that she could do it. Go Girl!!

I’m adding this little sign to remind all the girls in this world that: WE CAN DO IT!
I chose this one because I’m sure that this is the one my daughter would have chosen. The sparkly one.

girl power

And this reminds me of the Iranian women. I wanted to post this the day we had to go and visit his mom and aunt. I read this article and I felt really sad. I can’t believe that this things are still happening in this century. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2014/06/iranian-journalist-denounced-as-whore-over-womens-rights-campaign/

Masih Alinejad is an Iranian journalist based in London. She’s the one who started the movement “Stealthy Freedom of Iranian Women”. Now Iran’s state-run media is trying to discredit her. She found herself faced with the dilemma whether to go back home and reunite with her family or giving the women she considers to be her sisters, a platform.

“Do I go back to my country and keep silent, or stay abroad and be louder and louder, to be the voice of those mothers who lost a loved one and do not have any voice inside, and to be the voice of those women who do not believe in a mandatory hijab who need a voice, who need a platform?
I can’t leave them.”

Good choice Masih! I admire you!

I still have a beautiful butterfly to post, but today I choose to post a pink flower in honor to all the women who know they are taking a huge risk and still follow their ideals.
A pink rose, and believe it or not, that’s the flower that represents admiration.
