Wednesday. My mom is here! She managed to change trains without any problem. She even showed her ticket to the guy who was selling coffee on the train and then she realized it was the wrong guy and they were both laughing.
I surprised her with the house quite clean and dinner ready. Right now she’s organizing our closets. I love her so much for that. Even if I’ll have to call her for weeks after she leaves asking her where something is.
A few weeks ago, I asked my mom to bring cheerleader pompons. I need them to take a picture of myself for Mandy from healingbeyondsurvival.wordpress.com . Mandy wrote a book and was looking for a publisher. I said to her that for sure she was going to find one. She said I was such a “cheerleader”, so I told her: “When you get your book published, I’ll take a picture of myself with pompons”. She’ll get her book published this coming autumn but I will take the picture as soon as I can before my kids get the pompons plucked.
I didn’t say that to my mom, I said that the pompons were for my daughter. Next Monday, my kids are supposed to go with a costume to school to celebrate carnaval. I said to my daughter: “You’ll dress like a cheerleader” “A what??? I want to dress like a princess”. No girl, no chance. So I showed her some cheerleader costumes. WTF!! She saw more boobs in ten minutes than in one week in a French beach.
And probably that’s why men like sports…
I gave my bedroom to my mom so I’m sleeping in my “Arabian Nights Room” The radiator there is not working for some reason. I slept terribly because I was freezing. I’m awake since 4.50am. My head hurts. The airbed is cold. It doesn’t get warm with the body warmth. I put a blanket so I could lay on it but it was still cold. I’ll have to put another one and call the owner to get the radiator fixed. The thing is: “Do I want the guy to see my dreamy room?” I’m still debating on that. I’ll take pictures later to show how the room looks now.
Even my mom was impressed. Then I showed her my belly dancing costume and she looked at my kids and said: “Your mom gets every day crazier”. They knew that already.
At one point my mom said: “I brought this thing that I had home, I thought some of your kids would like it”. And she produce some kind of Aladdin head wrap from her suitcase. I couldn’t believe it!! I was screaming: “Now I have the costume for the man too!!”
Just picture the lucky guy who’ll have to wear the head wrap and the white pants!!

Thank you Sonia!! π
I’ll try to convince my son to dress like Aladdin.. If not, I may dress myself just for the show π
And if the guy loves me, that’s like the tiniest thing he’ll have to do! π

There does seem to always be something overly sexual about a cheerleader. Kind of sexist, if you think about it. Like encouraging men to be manly on the field. I wonder if there will ever be male cheerleaders in women’s sports.

That would be great!! Imagine the male cheerleaders cheering near the synchronized swimmer’s pool!! π

I’m thinking the kind of costume they should wear… Nothing too tight!! Jeans and white t-shirt… One day old beard… A bit of a macho look but not overreacted… Just natural..
(And I’ll be checking the local swimming pool and starting the lessons soon). π

Thank you, Paola!!! Pompoms, finally! You haven’t forgotten. I should have known you wouldn’t! I can’t wait to see the photo. I’ll frame it, maybe I’ll put a little thumbnail of it in the corner of the inside cover of my book to remind me what an awesome cheerleader I’ve had to push me to the finish line!! Please give your mom a big hug from Mandy. Tell her she has an awesome daughter who is loved by the universe, but especially by me!! β₯ β₯ β₯
