Friday!! Happy Birthday to me! 43 today. One less year to go to 100.
Like most of my birthdays, it’s raining.
I was born some hours after my mom’s water broke. She was carrying a 20 liters/5.2 gallons bucket of paint. I’m sure sometimes you thought I was crazy, but slowly you’ll understand that I don’t know any other way. My mother is 10 times more stubborn than me (and almost as crazy). Yes, that’s possible!!

We are cooking since yesterday. Special menu for the Lunar New Year. I marinated chicken on Wednesday and the meat eaters said it was very nice and that I should do it more often. Also the noodles with sweet and sour sauce were nice. Next year I’ll try dumplings.
I decorated my kitchen specially for the occasion.

My birthday menu consist on: Bread filled with cheese, black olives and onions, empanada gallega (tuna pie) for the meat eaters, home made bread with garlic to eat with hummus (one of my favorite foods), eggplant and red pepper salad.
Then 2 pies, cherry and peach (for sure topped with vanilla ice-cream). And English toffee.

Happy Birthday Pia!! My dear friend and I share birthday. She’s the only person who knows me in real life reading my blog.

Since it’s Friday and I’M IN LOVE, a song by Nirvana because today would be Kurt Cobain’s birthday too. The only song I could remember, is this one.
