Friday. Still feeling like beige underwear. This is taking too long and I won’t know anything for a few more weeks. I know I shouldn’t worry in advance, but I just can’t help it. It’s always easier saying it than actually doing it.
I really want to be able to focus in something. Anything. If my mom wouldn’t be here, nothing would get done. I just can’t concentrate.
I’m glad this weekend my kids won’t be here. I really need the silence. And catch up reading and learn the rules.

While I was writing, Florian The Runaway Kid’s mother came here to introduce herself and exchange phone numbers. She told me that last week she was crying for hours. She was expecting her son to be back at 6pm, not at 8.30pm. I explained that he wouldn’t leave, that I didn’t want to leave him alone and that I rather let him stay in my house than in some other house with crazier people. Poor woman, if one of my kids does something like that, I’m not sure how I would react.

It’s Friday, I should be in love. Maybe I am, very much in love, but this other feeling is taking over and I can’t relax.
As soon as I wrote that, Duran Duran came to my mind.
Year 1985 maybe? I couldn’t find a video… Pretty interesting lyrics, though

  2. I really relate to needing the silence. My son had lots of surrogate mothers growing up because I needed it so badly. He stayed with me for a year this past year (he’s 27 now) and it was so hard – I still need it and what a relief now that I’m living alone. I just wish my durn HEAD would be quiet!!

    • Thank yo Rob, you too!! I’ll listen to that version since is the only one I found. But I remember Duran Duran singing that (and Simon LeBon’s kissing lips… :D)

      • That’s the only one I know!! There is a version live on YouTube but it was too long to watch and I got tired before the actual song started 😀

      • I was searching, too. It looks like they covered the song at that concert, but didn’t record it. Maybe you’re thinking of their song called “The Reflex”? That was written by Duran Duran.

      • The only version that I know of is by the band that wrote it, Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Did you ever see a movie called Body Double? The song is in that, too and it has a very strange vignette in the middle of the movie while the song plays….

      • They may have covered the song at one time, but not recorded it? Who knows! I only know of the Frankie version. Wasn’t that movie strange? I think I’ll have to watch it again. 😀

      • I have no idea Rob… It was very popular in Argentina. I didn’t even know it was from Frankie goes to Hollywood, I know it by Duran Duran. And the movie was nice, I barely remember it. I remember the guy watching the movie with me. I had completely forgotten about that memory 🙂
