Saturday. Plans for the day: Going to the biggest shopping mall in Europe. Another shopping day for me. I’m overdosing. Getting there will take almost 4 hours. I’m glad we are going by train. I’m sad that in the train there is not wifi.
I already took a notebook and a pen and I will attempt to write a song. My biggest problem is that when I write in verse form, I only like it when it rhymes. Let’s see if I can break the rules.

Yesterday we went to eat to one of the local restaurants. I think there are three but I’m not sure. I had a great time. We drank sweet white wine, I was smiling after the second sip but it wasn’t enough to dance on the table.
My parents ate spareribs.

I ate fries with Gilde sauce (mayonnaise, peanut sauce (satΓ¨) and onions). That’s what the Dutch call: Pataat Oorlog (Potatoes War). I guess the name comes from the smell left in your mouth after eating them. Very oniony.

Onions are good for so many things…

And they are great in long distance relationships.

  3. Wow, 4 hours for a shopping mall! That’s hardcore shopping! Hope you enjoy and good luck with that song. I can’t think of a song that doesn’t rhyme but if you manage to pull it off, let me know.

  4. I cook with onions all the time but didn’t know some of the secrets you reveal. Apparently, onions keep one healthy, virile, and alone. I’m sure the potato war is announced with great trumpeting from one’s kazoo. I can’t shake the image of two lovers locked in an embrace when suddenly the potato war is announced. We are also heavy garlic abusers so I’ll double my onions for good health and trumpet away. It might keep the mosquito population down.

      • Abusing garlic is sinless and fun πŸ™‚ We should do it more often. I think I will write a short story titled, 50 shades of Garlic. πŸ™‚

      • Oh P! You are my newest best friend! A recipe would be great. I don’t know how to send food as an attachment yet. I’m sure Apple will find an app for that soon.

        I could try faxing a few slices, but I don’t own a fax πŸ˜€

The recipe is my own and it’s very simple. You prepare pizza/bread dough and lay it on a form with a bit of oil. You can choose how you like it (thin or spongy :D).
Then you need about 6 or 7 cloves for each pizza. You have to pass the garlic through the garlic presser (?) and then mix that with some olive oil (about 1/4 cup), salt, pepper, oregano and crushed chillies. You add that on top of the dough and bake it until done. If you like parmesan cheese, you can grate a bit on top too πŸ™‚

  5. I am going to be honest … I have never eaten a potatoes war. It’s a Dutch thing, isn’t it? Where is this biggest mall? Hope you enjoyed yourself. Keep on blogging in a free world – The False Prophet

  7. I think you should try breaking the rhyme. It is a great feeling. I love the flow that un-rhyming brings with it. I look forward to read it! πŸ™‚
