Friday. I’m awake since 4.30am. I couldn’t sleep. A couple of things are worrying me and it hurts that I can’t change them. Waiting sucks. I wish I could see the future right now, that way I’ll know if the wait was worthwhile.
I’ll continue writing about my blog’s “To Do” list. Now it’s the turn when many of you will ask yourselves (again) how altered my mental faculties are.

A few weeks ago, I was dared by Jamila (thisizapen.wordpress.com) to take a shower fully dressed.
And of course, write a post about it!

I’m not the kind of person who agrees on doing every crazy thing there is, but this one sounded like fun.
I have experience being dressed and wet (now… who has the dirty mind?!?), but mostly because someone threw me fully dressed in a swimming pool. I really never minded when that happened, but I kind of hated the time I had a white t-shirt on and half the school was around, so I begged the 4 guys who had my limbs, to allow me to change t-shirt. I looked like one of those whiny girls… Terrible!!
I’m so glad this nice guy took his black t-shirt and let me put it on top of mine. (You can guess, I fell in love with that guy too! There must be something wrong with me… It really takes nothing).

So I finally decided it was time to do it. I had planned to do the same Jamila did and shower with my pj’s, but then I thought it wouldn’t make much difference clothes or pj’s since I’m the one who will have to take care of the laundry after all.
Taking the soaked jeans off is not the easiest job, the fabric gets stuck around the legs. Luckily those jeans are stretchy.

So that’s me in the shower, fully dressed.

Now I’m ticking one more item from the blog “To Do” list. And adding to the other “To Do” list: “Learn how to use Photoshop”.

At least I can say I learned a couple lessons:

-Never take another picture from that angle.
-Sleep a few more hours (or start using a concealer… waterproof, of course).

And now, IT’S FRIDAY, I’M IN LOVE!!

Last Monday, someone very special to me, asked me if I had ever heard Willie Nelson singing “Pancho and Lefty”. No, I never had so I searched for the video and listened to it. I saw that below that video, there was a version sang by Townes VanZandt. I liked Townes version much more. So I decided to listen to more songs by him (maybe all of them). Country or blues are not my favorite genres of music, but the truth is that I don’t have a favorite genre or band. I like songs.
And among all the songs I heard since Monday, there were 4 that I liked very much. It’s the first time I had difficulty picking one song and leaving others out. So I said, I listen once more to the 4 songs and choose one.
So I was paying attention to one of the videos and I heard Townes saying: “….. (something I really couldn’t understand)… a few love songs and this might be the prettiest”. So I had my answer.

I want to dedicate this song to all my Texan friends and specially to my Twin (lookingforthelight.me), to Kim (kimboxin.wordpress.com), who’s missing her beloved Texas right now and to My Prince, of course!

I hope you love this song as much I as do,

Lover’s Lullaby Lyrics
( written by: Townes van Zandt & John Townes van Zandt)

Dreams that have flown down the hall
Tears that were sown on despair
Summer’s turned fall, they don’t matter at all
When I wake and find you lying there
Sweet silence and soft auburn hair

Blues gonna dance through the sky
Time’s gonna roll soft as rain
Sigh after sigh is gonna pass by and by
When I gaze into your brown eyes again
Ah, love is gonna fly on the wind

All the things I’ve seen and the places that I’ve been
Don’t mean a thing since I found you
All that matters now since I’ve won your love somehow
Are these plans that I keep makin’ not to lose you

So sleep till the moon slips away
I’m hopin’ all you’re dreamin’ comes true
When you rise with the day I might not have too much to say
But you know that doesn’t mean that I don’t love you
Ah, you know that doesn’t mean that I don’t love you

All the things I’ve seen and the places that I’ve been
Don’t mean a thing since I found you
All that matters now since I’ve won your love somehow
Are these plans that I keep makin’ not to lose you

Dreams that have flown down the hall
Tears that were sown on despair
Summer’s turned fall, it don’t matter at all
When I wake and find you lying there
Sweet silence and soft auburn hair
Sweet silence and soft auburn hair

R.I.P Townes, and thanks for the music.

(This is not the video where Townes says it’s the prettiest. The one where you heard him saying that is Solo Sessions, January 17, 1995).

  2. OHMYGOSH – You actually did it!! And posted a photo! Congratulations! (I know I just broke the rule of not using an exclamation mark three times in a row lol but the situation calls for it) Haha, that was really funny when you said one of the things you learned was to not take a photo from that angle. I LOVE this post 🙂 1000 points to you for taking a shower fully clothed. Thank you for doing the dare 😉

I was just scrolling through my reader when I saw your blog, which I’ve been meaning to read for aaaaages but either not had time to or was distracted, so I was like “Ah, DotedOn!! I’ll check out P’s blog now and read some of her posts” and I did NOT expect to see this – you actually did the dare! Oh my gosh.

It’s so satisfying ticking things off your list. When you say your blog has a to-do list, does that mean a list of awards to accept? Or does it mean posts to write, comments to reply to and stuff like that?

By the way, I liked the song you posted which is cool because I don’t usually like that genre. Oh yeah, and it made me excited when you said “It’s Friday I’m In Love” cos I thought of The Cure.

I can’t believe you were up since 4.30!

Thank you for the link to my blog 🙂

Gonna head over to your other posts now. Have a great day!

P.S. The dirty mind thing – lol

    • Hi Jamila!!
My blog’s “to do” list has all the posts I have to write… It’ll take many days but it’s fun to do it 🙂
Every Friday I post a song. Friday is my favorite day of the week and I LOVE The Cure’s song, that’s why I call it that way.
I have to catch up reading your blog too. Life keeps happening and I have so much to do!! The day I clone myself, one of my clones will spend the day reading blogs 😀
It was fun to do the dare. 🙂 (And my soaked clothes are still in the bathtub… Let’s see for how long, since I truly suck at being a housekeeper).
By the way, if you read my 231 post, you’ll find out you’ve been given an award!!! 😀 I break all the awards rules so I didn’t tell anyone, I just let the people find out by themselves 🙂 (I’m telling you now, so another broken rule here!!).
      Have the perfect Friday!
      hugs
      Paola

      • Hi Paola!!
Oh, I see! That’s cool that you have a plan, I quite often find myself stuck for what to write about 🙂 I’ve decided now that if I get really stuck for a post I can just use a Liebster-style question as a prompt and write my post from there, like “Would You Rather Kill Someone Or Be Killed?” – that kind of thing. But it would be great if I could think of topics more easily like you. And I wish I could also write a post a day.
Yeah, my pyjamas took days to dry, I just left them on the floor for a while because I was intending to take a photo for my blog, but I didn’t get round to it. Then my mum asked me why my pyjamas were wet and lying on the floor and I had to explain!
Oh wow!!!! Thank you so much 😀 That’s so cool. I will go check out the post 🙂
        Thank you!
        Jamila xx

      • (Clothes still in the bathtub :D)
I write every day so it’s a bit of a diary. And there is always something happening.
I couldn’t do a question as a prompt, it reminds me of my school days (I didn’t like school (at all!!) :D).

  3. P! I love that mischievous smile. You eyes are laughing with that Mwaaah Haaa haaaa sound. 😉 I have been wet many times in my clothes but that is because I was outside when it rained. I stay inside now and I’ve noticed I stay drier. Have a good weekend!

    • Hahahaha, I didn’t count those wet days… And trust me, they were many. I don’t use an umbrella because I always think: “It’s only water!”
      Have a good weekend too!

  7. A little behind on reading but thanks so much for the mention! You are the sweetest! Townes Van Zandt was an amazing songwriter who led a very tragic life. You should look up his story if you get the chance.

    • 🙂 I’m glad you liked it!
I read his biography the same day I listened to his songs. That made me like him even more. I don’t like all the songs, but the ones I like, I REALLY like 🙂
And don’t worry, I’m trying to catch reading too, but it seems impossible!! 🙂

  10. Found you, funny the impression you build in your mind when corresponding through the written word, for some reason I expected a more mature plumper looking woman, though I know a gentleman never comments on a ladies appearance! You look lovely! Very Latin? I’ll read this tomorrow, like I said I love to spend time with a post 🙂
