Monday. Two weeks ago, I got the Blog Tour Award from Randstein at hyperionsturm.wordpress.com.
In order to accept the award (not nomination), I was asked to post a story today, April 27th.
Together with the story, I had to answer some questions and give the award (not nomination), to other bloggers. You can check out my answers and if you won, here .

Now, without further ado, I’ll give you the story that I couldn’t make any shorter and I’m really sorry about it.
I would rate this as: if you are younger than 16, ask your parents if you can read it.

I enjoyed writing it very much and I hope you enjoy reading it as well.

“Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, a cute girl named Lisa was born.
Every time a girl is born, she gets three fairy godmothers who will guide her and each concede a wish.
Attending Lisa’s birth there were only two fairies and they were complaining about the third one missing that very special moment. The atmosphere in the room was tense and the fairies, instead of enjoying the moment, kept gossiping. ‘She’s always late!’.

Lisa grew up as a very happy girl. She believed in love as the only thing capable to cure everything. Her only dream was to live happily ever after.

When Lisa was in college, she met Tom. She liked him immediately. After failing a few attempts at winning Tom’s heart, Lisa asked Sweet Fairy Godmother for help.

sweet

Sweet Fairy Godmother knew only one thing. How to sugar-coat… So she casted a spell on Tom. She made Tom really sweet… But she overdid it. Tom became cloying and Lisa felt suffocated and lost interest after a few years.

Some time passed and Lisa started working. At the office, there was a nice man named David who was very interested in Lisa but Lisa had no interest or wasn’t attracted to him at all. But since she was in her late 20’s and she started feeling the clock ticking really hard, she decided to ask Charming Fairy Godmother for help.

charming

She thought that David was the kind of man you settle for, so he could be the one.
So Charming Fairy Godmother casted a spell on David. She made him irresistible. But of course, she forgot a very important detail. He wasn’t irresistible only for Lisa… And after some years Lisa got sick and tired of it.

Now Lisa was over 40. She couldn’t believe she had failed two attempts at being happy. And for what she knew, if Sweet Fairy Godmother and Charming Fairy Godmother couldn’t help her be happy, she really had little hope that Naughty Fairy Godmother would be of any use. But ok, she still had one wish and at this point, not much to lose.
So she asked Naughty Fairy Godmother for help.

naughty

This time she said: “Please help me find my true love”.
“Your wish is my command… You’ll find your true love but I can’t tell you who he is. You’ll discover that yourself. I’ll only tell you where he’ll be and make things as easy as possible for you.”
“How? I don’t understand.”
“You have to do exactly as I tell you.”
“OK”
“You’ll sign up for next Saturday’s Speed Dating event at the café around the corner of your house”.
“OK”
“You’ll meet several men and you’ll have only 2 minutes to talk to each.”
“How am I supposed to know in two minutes who my true love is?”
“Trust me, you will”
“How?”
“Because I’ll make them all ask you the same question”
“And then?”
“Then you’ll see…”
“Are you kidding me?”
“Darling, when a woman older than 40 finds her true love, it’s not because she got the help of Sweet or Charming Fairy Godmothers… It’s because I WAS THERE!!”.

So on the way home, Lisa stopped at the café and signed up for the Speed Dating event.
The three days until Saturday were very strange for her. She never imagine herself buying sexy lingerie, getting a Brazilian wax, shopping for new clothes and changing hair style. The only thing she did over and over was stare at her image in the mirror and wonder: “Is that really me?”

Saturday at last. In the two minutes walk to the café, she noticed at least three men turning around to look at her. When she entered the place, everyone , men and women, stared at her. She felt pretty uncomfortable. That’s not how it’s suppose to be. She didn’t want a man who was attracted to her because of her looks… She was truly disappointed.
Soon she got a list of 25 names. She knew that her true love’s name was among those.

The first man sat in front of her. He asked: “How would you treat a man?”
She replied: “Like a king”… She heard those words and couldn’t stop shaking her head. How in hell would she find her true love with that answer?!?
Soon the man said: “And how’s that?”
“For example, I’ll please him. And when he is watching TV, I’ll go slowly to where he’s sitting and place one knee on each side of his legs, then I’ll unbutton and unzip his pants and very sensuously lift my dress to show him that I’m not wearing panties…”. After saying those words, her jaw dropped and she felt like gagging… Where did she learn to talk that way?!? She couldn’t believe she had said that… And she couldn’t believe the reply of that man and the next 19… She kept looking at the ceiling in total disbelief and saying: “Freaking Fairy Naughty Godmother, it seems that you have no idea who I am… This is not me and those are not my words!! And I don’t like what these men are saying to me either!! How will I ever find someone who’s worth something if the only think I hear is: “Oh yeah, fu$#ing and watching sports… a dream came true!”

It was the 21st time she had a man in front of her. She read the name tag, Joe.
Joe looked like a nice man. Like many nice men she had just met but soon discovered they were after one thing. She was regretting being there for the 21st time.
Joe asked: “How would you treat a man?”
“Like a king”
“And how’s that?”
“For example, I’ll please him. And when he is watching TV, I’ll go slowly to where he’s sitting and place one knee on each side of his legs, then I’ll unbutton and unzip his pants and very sensuously lift my dress to show him that I’m not wearing panties…”
“You have to know that if you come close to me, the last thing I’ll want to do, is watch TV”.
Lisa’s eyes opened really big. Her smile was huge. She only managed to stretch her hand and touch his. She felt a sparkle. And she knew they were going to live happily ever after…”

The end.

Dedicated to everyone who believes in happy endings and to My Prince.
