Thursday. If you celebrate, Happy Thanksgiving!
We are celebrating this year too. My kids loved the celebration last year so they asked me if we could keep the tradition.
This time, I wanted to get everything ready in advance because I don’t like stressing very much so I decided to go grocery shopping earlier this week.
I have this very strange kind of luck that if the weather forecast says it’ll snow 3000 flakes on Tuesday, it’ll be exactly when I have to go out. So when I took my bike to ride to the supermarket, I got the 3000 flakes of snow.
When I got there, I realized I had forgotten the coin to take the shopping cart.

carrr

I’m not sure if that’s the case where you live, but here, if you don’t have a coin you can’t get a shopping cart. So, if you need to buy a bunch of things, you are f#$ked up because this supermarket doesn’t have baskets. I wasn’t planning on going home to get a freaking coin so I grabbed a box that I found there and started to put the things in it until it got too heavy to carry around so I went to pay and left (this time, under watery snow).
I got home wet and frozen and with only half of the things I needed.
Because of that, I had to change menu. I’m preparing turkey legs for the meat eaters and also pasta.
I decided to make a peanut butter cheesecake. Next time I should read the stupid recipe before. It said something about cooking time but then it wasn’t explained anywhere what I had to cook or when. And the sad part is that some of the ingredients that the recipe asked for are not available here so I had to improvise again… I’m ready for another cheesecake disaster just like last year… The only difference this time it’ll be that we’ll probably have to eat it straight from the form because it looks like the crust is there to stay. (I’m not really complaining about that, less dishes to load in the dishwasher!!).

Last week, my sweet mother sent me this. I’ll translate it for you:

“It’s said that a real woman has her house always tidy. The laundry basket empty. She’s always neat, smiling and wearing perfume. She’s delicate and never uses bad language. I’m starting to think that I’m a man!!”

If you count all the things above, you get that a real woman has to have 7 things.
I can barely tick one… So what does that make me? I couldn’t find a ranking of women anywhere, but I wonder how it’s called one that has only 1/7 of the requirements.
So today is one of those days I’m thankful for having long hair and big boobs.
I’m also thankful for the obvious things, (internet included), for still having a brain that works even though it’s failing me many times and also for having a big warm heart that assures me that if my ex goes to that place, he won’t be getting a cold beer.

  2. I hope you have a good Thanksgiving. We have no coins for carts here but we have started a recycling plan where you need to bring your own bags or pay ten cents for a paper one. Sometimes I forget to bring my own bags and even though it’s not such a big deal to pay, I always feel so helpless…plus the paper ones are so hard to carry, you can really only get one at a time.
O really don’t think you need to judge yourself by that meme by the way. I don’t think any women is truly like that. Not any more at least!

    • Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
Yes, my dear mother sent it to me! She’s very nice (and I call her the queen of the clean and the tidy). She knows I’m a mess… I laughed when she sent it to me! Anyway, I would never get to Real Woman rank because I swear like a sailor (and I learned that from my mother!! 😀 ).

  7. Happy belated Thanksgiving dear! ❤ Hope you had a great one! 🙂 I wonder whether it is hard for you to cook meat since you are vegetarian.
