Wednesday. It’s sunny and I feel much better.
I ordered the presents for my kids and also bought the presents for the school kids. I got deodorant and some shower gel because my son asked me to get deodorant. I have to admit that it was very easy. I’m still not sure why it’s so popular among 10/11 years old.

We put the Christmas tree and decorated it. I love that tree and I’m sure to add at least one thing that each of my kids made. I’m only missing something from my youngest son.

The new additions this year are the Santa Clauses made out of branches. There was a box in my son’s kindergarten with a sign: “To take away”. So I picked a big Santa and a small one. I’m not sure who made them but I thought they were perfect for our tree.

As soon as the presents get delivered, I’ll wrap them, hide them and then relax.

I’ll be going to Spain for Christmas and New Year. I don’t want to stay here alone, it won’t be good for me. I’ll leave the 24th very early in the morning so my kids will get their presents when I’m back. I feel a bit bad about not being with them but I explained to them why I was leaving and they said they understood (specially after I told them I was bringing some nice things for them from Spain).

Last year I brought churros and turrón.

These are churros. I’m not sure if everyone knows them. They are made of some kind of dough and deep fried. I like them very much even after I feel sick for about half a day after eating one (and I never eat only one).

And that’s turrón. I’m not sure how that’s called in English, probably nougat. There are many different kinds and the white one with almonds is one of my favorites but I have to admit that the marzipan one or the one made with “burned egg yolks” are amazing too.

I really love my kids when they are happy with so little, it makes me feel like I’m doing something right.

  4. I love your tree! Very cute! Have fun in Spain for the holidays. Are you staying with family there. Yes, churros are sold in a lot of amusement parks and fairs in the U.S. Not really sure what the other treats are.

  9. I think the bowl of Churros look like, you know!!!!!!I’m wrapping up throw Back Thursday and can’t get a hold of Gavin for his pick. I think teaching the kids you are going to be separated is a good thing. The Man has to.
    See you in morning.

  13. OK, I don’t think it’s just me, but those churros are somewhat phallic lol

It’s been SO long since I’ve visited your blog (and pretty much everyone else’s, too—life has been “interesting” this year, to say the least) and I REALLY do enjoy your posts. I was just making my way down a bunch of them, trying to catch up and wishing I could read them ALL, and now, since I really need to shower and go food shopping, I decided this is where I’d stop to comment 🙂

First, I saw mention of loss and grief, but couldn’t find what you were referring to. I can’t help but wonder and want to know, and with my brain, wondering if I DID know and can’t recall (like most things!). I also couldn’t figure out where you were flying to, but was enjoying what I grabbed from my perusing.

Anyway, my dear, I wanted to thank you for being one of my top commenters! You’re true blue, for sure, and I appreciate it. I REALLY hope I can visit here more this year! oxoxox

I have to catch up reading too. I feel awful I when I don’t read all the blogs I follow but sometimes, I really don’t have the time!
I’m just back from Barcelona visiting my cousins so I have even more posts to read!!
Let’s hope this is a great year for us!
      hugs!
