Monday. Yesterday afternoon after writing my post, I was peacefully watching TV and deciding if I wanted to bake something sweet or not because I was still craving chocolate when I got an e-mail from my friend Pia. On the subject said: “Valentine’s Present”

She wrote: “You said you wanted chocolate. There you go. I attached the picture of the delivery guy so you don’t get confused”

She added: “I’m also sending you a bouquet of flowers with another delivery guy”.

Thank you, Pia!
What a shame that I could only eat those chocolates with my eyes!

A bit later I got a text from my ex saying: “I’m on the way to your house to pick a book for your son”.
After cursing for about 3 minutes, I could reply: “Why?”
“He asked me to”
“And where is him?”
“At home”
I was fuming… I could only ask: “How long would you take to be here?”
“15 minutes”.
More and more cursing because he didn’t ask me if it was OK to come here. He just decided that I wasn’t doing anything and he could drop by. The distance between his house and mine is 35 minutes by car, so I was infuriated.
When he got here I said “Hi” and gave him the book. He walked to the passenger seat, opened the door, took a plant and said:
“This is from five persons who love you very much”
“Come on! If it’s really from them, why didn’t you let them give it to me tomorrow? I don’t like this.” I said.
“Don’t be so hard”
“You are doing everything wrong!” I was really pissed at him, specially when he started smiling, took a wrapped package and said:
“And this is from someone who wants you to get sweet”.
“I really don’t like this” I said, when I was actually thinking “F#$K YOU!”.
He didn’t give a crap, gave me the package, got in the car and left.

My afternoon was dark after that. It kept snowing and the sight of his gift made me quite mad. Hours passed and it didn’t get much better so sometime after midnight I decided to unwrap the package and eat the stupid chocolate bar.

Please, don’t tell me “at least you got the chocolate you wanted”.

  1. Reblogged this on SURVIVORS BLOG HERE.

  2. I didn’t do much for my day as I’m single, but I have a feeling that will change in the future. I’m sure many people will be grateful to you for those raunchy pictures on here.

  3. See, this is another reason I really don’t like holidays, in general. Everything is FORCED. The way I see this is largely that these gifts were probably meant as something you’d appreciate on a day you were expecting them (and more) and the reason they were delivered yesterday instead of today is because yesterday was THE “Valentine’s Day” so you HAVE to give your gifts and “show your love” on that specific day.

You and your ex have developed such deep-seated issues that they are always simmering under the surface, and it only takes one thing to make them boil over, and sometimes (I know you don’t want to hear this), there may be misunderstanding. Preconceptions and assumptions of things that are never cleared up create problems that are impossible to get past 😦 He may be an a**hole, but it’s possible there are some things he does that aren’t initially intended the way your reactions, then his reactions to yours, end up making them. He’s not someone you want a Valentine from, for sure, but in his mind I don’t think he was seeing it as romantic. Who knows? Maybe he thought it was funny. I’m just sorry you had a bad day 😦

P.S. I realize a portion of women enjoy these, but these “studs” do absolutely nothing for me, to be honest lol I can’t stand flaunty people/models/whoever. Hell, I couldn’t stand when we went to see the Chippendales for my sister-in-law’s bachelorette “party” 30+ years ago. All of it turns me off lol

  4. Well, I won’t say you got the chocolate you wanted, because it would only be half true. It’s chocolate, but not the chocolate you wanted. I sympathize with you, it can be infuriating when someone just tramples over you because they think they have the right (or worse, just don’t care).

  6. I must say this post has generated a great response of people saying that overly groomed people just don’t do it for them.
