Wednesday. I woke up this morning feeling it was Thursday. I even wrote Thursday and I had to cancel it. I think my subconscious wants this day to be over soon. But it’ll have to wait because the day is still pretty new.

The landlord came yesterday and I showed him the attic. While we were going upstairs he said: “Are you sure they are not mice?” Those are the kind of things that cause my heart to skip a beat. I said: “I know mouse poop and this one is different”.
Then he saw the evidence and said: “You have a marten. Do you know what they are?”.
I know what they are and I was completely surprised/shocked with my answer: “What can I do to get rid of it? Close all the holes? Put some poison?”. Poison?? Really?? Holy f#$k. I can’t kill a mosquito and I was thinking about killing one of those?

I felt completely ashamed. I asked: “Do you think he’s living here or that he comes and goes” “That’s hard to say. But they are very difficult (almost impossible) to keep outside. They always find a way”. That last part made me smile because I was told a few times that: “You are like water, you always find a way”. I mostly call that my “F#$king Stubbornness”. Either way, I love to always find a way… Or anything. It’s the waiting time until I get it what kills me. But I have hope. And faith. And so much love. And I’m running out of patience and sometimes, I get a bit discourage… But my son would tell me: “Quitting is for Pussies”. (No, he wouldn’t… He knows how much I HATE when he uses that word. Anyway, if he would say it, he’d be freaking right!).

So, there is not much I can do. I read somewhere that I could put some electronic device that emits sounds that keep some rodents away. I’ll see about that, I’m not using the attic but the idea of having an uninvited guest, is not pretty.

  3. Oh goodness, how frightening! Are the vicious? I have a friend who had a raccoon problem and she had to set out cages.

  4. We have an electronic thingy. It keeps some away, but not all, but it’s worth a try! It’s a very cute animal, but I wonder how it behaves. Either way, you want it out of your attic!

    • Yes, it’s very cute… The problem is that if they can’t find food, they’ll eat whatever is there… There is not much there yet, but maybe one day I’d like to use the attic 🙂

  5. You need to find out whether it’s a male marten.. it might be the answer to a few of your requests.. uninvited, cute, male that has decided to make your house his home… ok, you can’t shoot me from that far, but stop glaring at me, I can feel that.. 😀
