Thursday. I have again my youngest kids here. Cutie’s eye looks still horrible and I think the man will take him to the doctor tomorrow if he’s not better this afternoon.
I’m tired and worried. And I’m so behind with everything that I feel like escaping again. Not even once it crossed my mind to face the problems and find a solution. I know that’s the way to do it, but I just don’t feel like fighting. I’m still exhausted and when I feel like this, nothing is clear. And it doesn’t mean I’ll quit. I’m just in stand by. I’ll allow myself to be like this a couple of days and then I’ll make a list and get all things done. Or at least, some of them.
Something happy now (aka escaping).
After the nice morning spent in Peratallada on Sunday, we went to another Roman town called Pals.
Pals is famous for some special rice they produce. The plan was to eat paella. Vegetarian paella. We got to the restaurant and we wanted to sit outside because the sun was amazing and warm. We got a beautiful table and the sad news that they didn’t prepare vegetarian paella. Never mind, I had a salad with goat cheese and some red wine. And also ‘patatas bravas’ (potatoes with some red spicy sauce).
After lunch, that continued with cake and a local wine called garnatxa, we took a walk around. The place was similar to the other town but much bigger and some parts were changed or restored.
You probably wonder why I take pictures where you can see more of the sky than the monument. It’s simply because I collect blue skies. One of these days I’ll post all my “Blue Skies with Detail” (the detail is mostly a part of a tree, a bird, the corner of a building or bridge, etc.). The kind of pictures that were never developed by the people at the store because they believed they were missed shots. And I had to go back and explain that where I lived my sky was always grey and I needed the blue.
We had a great time there. Later that day, there was going to be a living manger. I think it was going to be spectacular. The scenery was incredible.
I took this picture because it reminded me of Don Quixote.
Some years ago, I got an abridged version of the book The Adventures of Don Quixote just because I wanted to look for a special part in it. One of my teachers used to say every now and then: “They are barking Sancho… That’s a signal that we are riding”. Now I don’t remember if I found that part or not, I should reread it. Anyway, I love that quote even if it doesn’t belong to the book. And it’s pretty much how I feel many times.
We left the town around sunset time.
I loved the way back. At one side the sun and on the other the incredible full moon. I’m sorry about the bad pictures. I took several but none of them is really good.
I wanted to see the sea before leaving Spain, so Jordi drove me to Badalona and we had a walk by the sea lighten by the full moon.
Sunsets, fool moon, sea, nice food, special places… I need a boyfriend!!

So I’ve heard! Sorry!
Here it’s relatively warm but dark and rainy… But it’ll get better, warmer and lighter (sometime in April!) š

Yes, I suppose with all that lovely scenery it might be nice to have someone to share it with. Someday your prince will come.

Hello Twin P
Looks like you had so much fun. You were smiling, your face probably hurts. Be careful because you can easily get pick eye from cuie. Take him to the doctor and he’ll be fine in a week or so. I’ve been so out of it today, I thought I read the man was at your house and you were arguing? I didn’t catch the part about why he was there.
I’ll send you an email.

Twin M,
I had a great time!!
Cutie’s eye is almost as good as new.
The man was here only a few hours on Tuesday morning. Enough to fight several times!.

Lay down the law Twin P
Remind him when he comes to your house to leave the attitude at home. You are creating a more supportive environment for the kids and will not allow fighting with him. He has a choice.

Why tearful Twin??
I already told him that no fighting in my house… But most of the fight happened in the car while he was driving me home.

Oh my gosh, that food you described sounds delicious – I’m jealous š But I’m trying to be vegan right now so I wouldn’t have been able to eat it anyway BTW “garnatxa” sounds like a mystical place in a fantasy novel.
The paragraph you wrote about blue skies is so beautiful! It’s the sort of thing I’d imagine to be quoted on watercolor postcards.

I couldn’t go vegan. I LOVE cheese. I’m staying vegetarian for now.
Garnatxa tastes very sweet and a bit strong, not like a liquor, more like a very sweet (and powerful) wine. Delicious!! If you have on your bucket list “Barcelona”, add “Try Garnatcha” (wait a few years!! š )
I love blue skies! I’ll post some soon.
Hugs

I’m only being vegan for January, it’s for a challenge (Veganuary) that I signed up for at a Vegfest – thank god it’s just for a month.
I know, right?! I’m really missing cheese at the moment. It would make all the vegetarian food that I’m eating so much tastier. I will do a blog post about Veganuary XD
I have been to Barcelona a few times, so I will add “Try Garnatcha” to my bucket list! Looking forward to it, hehe. It sounds really good. Have you tried a drink called “Horchata”?

I never heard about Veganuary!
I know horchata but I never tried it because it looks too milky š I love cheese but I can’t stand milk š (Probably it doesn’t contain milk, I’ll search). If it doesn’t have milk, I’ll try it next time š

Horchata doesn’t have milk, it’s sometimes made with rice, sometimes with almonds, sometimes with sesame seeds (and sometimes with lots of other things but I’m not going to list them all XD) It does taste a bit milky, but I think you might prefer it to milk? It’s sweet and cold and really really good š

I’ll try it next time I’m in Spain (and that will be soon!!).
I will ask anyway if it has milk, just to be sure… I have a bad experience tasting tea with milk and I didn’t know in which direction to send the liquid while it was in my mouth… I swallow it because I just had met the guy who was there with me… A couple of days later, I would have spitted it š

LOL I know what you mean about not knowing which direction to send it. That actually always happens to me when I take a sip of liquid that’s too hot. It’s either burn my mouth and be polite, or spit it out, and… not be too polite. š
Haha, I love that last sentence you wrote!! XD LOL

Ok. You might not be in to country music but your post made me think of a song called “Blue Skies” by Willie Nelson. Your cowboy hat has already made you an honorary Texan! Blue skies and cheers to you!
