Thursday. This thing of waking up in the middle of the night with strange thoughts is really tiring.
I’m not sure if I should say that this time wasn’t bad because I remember how I felt that day and it was pretty sad.
When I moved to this house I had a lot of things to do. I spent the first months painting, scratching, cleaning, fixing and watching the birds. I wanted to identify all the birds that I saw on my yard.
This is what happened one morning in late September.
I copied what I wrote then:

I saw a new bird and ran to take a picture.

Soon after, I saw another bird like that one, but on the other side of the bushes. They were calling each other but they couldn’t see each other. I almost cried. I’m very sensitive to that… Lovers who know their soulmate is there and keep calling each other but can’t find each other.

Moments later, one of my kids came running and the birds flew away. Now I don’t know if they could finally meet. I need a happy ending.

I think it’s very sad when you know your soulmate is there but for some reason you can’t meet.

I wonder what’s worse. Never finding your soulmate or knowing that they are there and not having the chance to meet?
I guess the second is worse. I believe that once you meet the perfect person, nobody else can even compete. You can try and try but nobody will ever fill those shoes.
And what should you do then? Walk the rest of your life with uncomfortable shoes or cut those bushes and find your love?

Just in case, I’m ordering one of those soon.

  4. Funny, I like the ending! I guess that there’s a soul mate out there for all of us…or maybe even a few, but nobody is perfect.

  5. I agree with Marissa. Perhaps the chainsaw is a metaphor for just “putting yourself out there”. Come on, Rapunzel, let down that hair! ๐Ÿ’–

  6. Ok, that ending was hysterical. I almost spit my coffee out laughing.
